# Adding Pop-up Store to your Wordpress website

## This article explains how to add the Print.com Pop-up Store to your WordPress website, either through a plugin or directly in the code.

Use this step-by-step guide to place your Pop-up Store embed code on your WordPress site, so the Pop-up Store appears automatically. You don't need to be a developer: you copy a snippet of code from your Pop-up Store dashboard and paste it in the right place in WordPress.

**What do you need?**

You need access to your Pop-up Store dashboard (at popup.print.com) and to the back end of your WordPress website (the WP admin area, usually yourdomain.com/wp-admin). Make sure you have administrator rights in WordPress, as these are required to add code to your theme or through a plugin. Don't have them? Then there's a good chance your website was built by a third party. Get in touch with them and ask them to install your Pop-up Store — it takes no more than 5 minutes.

**Step 1 – Add your domain in the Pop-up Store**

Log in to your Pop-up Store dashboard and go to Installation in the left-hand menu. Under step 1, "Add domain", enter the domain where the Pop-up Store will be installed (for example, the address of your WordPress site). This makes sure the Pop-up Store only works on your own website.

**Step 2 – Copy the embed code**

Stay on the Installation page and go to step 2, "Copy embed code". Click the Copy embed code button. The code is then copied to your clipboard automatically. The embed code looks something like this:

*Please note*: the embed code is unique to your Pop-up Store, so always use the code you copy from your own dashboard.

**Step 3 – Paste the embed code into WordPress**

The code belongs in the `<head>` section of your website. There are several ways to do this in WordPress. Choose the method that suits your situation.

- **Option A – Through a plugin (recommended, no technical knowledge needed).** Install and activate a plugin that lets you add code to the header, such as "WPCode" or "Insert Headers and Footers". Then go to that plugin's settings in the WordPress menu, find the field for the header (often called "Header" or "Scripts in Header"), paste the embed code you copied, and save. This is the safest method, because the code stays in place when your theme is updated.
- **Option B – Through the Theme File Editor (for advanced users).** In WordPress, go to Appearance and then to Theme File Editor. Open the `header.php` file of your (child) theme and paste the embed code just before the closing `</head>` tag. Then click Update File. Only use this method if you're working with a child theme; otherwise the code will disappear with your next theme update.

In both cases, save your changes before you continue.

**Step 4 – Check the installation**

Go back to your Pop-up Store dashboard, to step 3, "Check installation". Then visit a page on your live website. If everything is set up correctly, the Pop-up Store will appear on your website right away, in the configuration you selected. Don't see the Pop-up Store? First clear your browser cache and the cache of any caching plugins in WordPress, then check that the domain from step 1 matches your website address exactly.
