Producing a good print starts with supplying a good file. The correct export settings are an important step that should be remembered. To simplify this, we offer the suitable presets for various applications such as .joboptions files. You import these files via the Adobe PDF Presets window in InDesign or Illustrator. You now always have the correct export pre-settings, and select which are applicable when exporting your file. You can read which preset is needed for which application below:

Sheet-fed Offset and Print Coated, such as business cards Use this preset to create PDF files for printing on coated paper. Files with a resolution higher than 300 DPI will be downscaled to 300 DPI. The exported PDF file will not contain any cutting characters and has a 3 mm bleed.

Large Format 100% FileSize, like sheet materials Use this preset to create PDF files for printing on signs / large format products. Files with a resolution higher than 150 DPI will be downscaled to 150 DPI. The exported PDF file does not contain any cutting characters and has a 10mm bleed.

Large Format Scaled File Size like sheet materials Use this preset to create PDF files for printing on signs / large format products. Adobe PDF files can have a maximum size of 545 cm. If the final format of the final product is larger, this means that your file must be scaled. This can be done at, for example, 50% or 10% of the final format. This is why this preset will not down-size the file, because your file will eventually need to be enlarged again when printing. The exported PDF does not contain any cutting marks and has a 10 mm bleed.
