# Step 3: Add products to WooCommerce

## This article explains step by step how to add a new product and which settings you can configure.

Please note: WooCommerce is an external tool that we use. For questions about how WooCommerce itself works, we refer you to the official [WooCommerce documentation.](https://woocommerce.com/learn/)

Go to *Products* in the menu on the left and click *Add new product.* On the left side of your screen, you can configure the following:

- *Product name:* The name of your product
- *Add media:* Add product images
- *Product description*: The full description of your product
- Regular price**:** The standard price of the product
- *Sale price***:** The discounted price. If desired, you can set the period during which the discount is valid
- *Product short description***:** A short description of up to two sentences. This is displayed at the top of the product page

On the right side of your screen, you will find additional options:

- *Product image***:** The main image of your product. This contributes to a professional presentation and supports search engine visibility
- *Product gallery:* Additional product images that enhance the presentation and can positively contribute to SEO
- *Product categories***:** Assign your product to relevant categories for a clear structure and better discoverability
- *Product tags***:** Keywords that help make your product easier to find
- *Brands***:** Link the product to a brand to create additional structure within your webshop
